Bernie Hanson, a devoted partner, father, loyal friend, and respected figure in the automotive industry, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in Saskatoon.
His departure leaves a void in the hearts of many who knew and cherished him.
Bernie was predeceased by his beloved mother, Marty Hanson, whose nurturing spirit and unwavering love shaped the man he would become.
He is survived by his loving partner, Sandy, whose steadfast support and companionship were constants in his life. Bernie also leaves behind his cherished son, Anthony; his surrogate daughters, Setra and Brooklyn, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy and his father Marvin and stepmother Rhoda, as well as two sisters Monique Hanson (Stephen) and Michelle Farrow (Ryan)
Bernie built a career in the automotive industry not only as a skilled and knowledgeable professional, but as someone who truly cared for the people he served. Whether you were a longtime customer or a first-time visitor, Bernie greeted everyone with genuine kindness and a firm handshake. His integrity and dedication earned him the respect of countless clients and colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends.
To Bernie his workplace was a space where stories were shared, laughter echoed, and relationships were built. He had a gift for making people feel seen and heard, always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or simply listen. His uncanny ability to remember names, details, and preferences spoke volumes about how deeply he cared for the people in his life.
Outside of work, Bernie was known for his wit, his generosity, and his deep sense of loyalty. He treasured his time with family, whether it was a quiet dinner with Sandy, heart-to-heart talks with Anthony, or the lively company of Setra and Brooklyn.
He also maintained a strong bond with his father Marvin, sharing stories, wisdom, and laughter over the years.
Bernie had a way of turning everyday moments into memories. Bernie approached life with authenticity and heart. Friends often remarked that he was the kind of person who made you feel like family, no matter how long you’d known him.
In a world that can often feel impersonal, Bernie Hanson stood out as a reminder of the power of connection, the value of hard work, and the importance of treating others with dignity and care. His legacy lives on not only in the work he did, but in the many lives he touched.
An INFORMAL CELEBRATION of Bernie’s life will be held at
#8 POPLAR ROAD, Riverside Estates, from 1-5pm,
JUNE 1, 2025, where friends and family will gather to honour his memory, share stories, and say goodbye to a man who made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bernie’s name to a charity of your choice, in keeping with his generous spirit.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
