He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria O'Hara and Emil Loran; his son Matthew; his grandson Luke; his siblings, Tom, Hugo and Elisabeth; and his friend Frank Pizzuto.

He is survived by: his friends, Muriel Pizzuto, Tom and Millie Loran; his wife Anne (Whelan); his sons, Pat (April), Joe (Heidi), Bob (Jeanine), Jim (Helen) and John (Monica); his grandchildren, Theresa (Richard), Michelle (Ryan), John (Jenny), Stephanie (Brian), Deborah (Scott), Matthew (Dee-Anna), Colleen (Brad), Pamela (Drew), Meghan (Collin), Kimberly (Steve), Anthony (Tricia), Natasha, Rebecca (Cam), Tom (Amy), Anderson (Haley), Christopher (Charlotte), Julia (Cory), Nicole, Jonathan (Danielle), Noelle (Fraser) and Jessica (Aden); and his sisters, Gwen (Rudolph Stang) and Dorothy (Michel Fortier). He is also survived by 26 great grandchildren.
