He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Louis; his wife Edna Redl (Kurtenbach); his children, Daniel Redl (Lorraine) of Spring Lake, AB, Gerald Redl (Michelle) of Saskatoon, Laura Dutka (Henry) of Saskatoon, Tom Redl (Ieva Kimonte) of Edmonton and Lynn Ekdahl (Clint) of Saskatoon; and his grandchildren, April Fidler (Aaron), Melissa Esford (Barry), Britni Michel (Corey), Sarah Dutka (Jared MacKay), Walker Dutka, Courtney Bubnick (Jimmy), Julia Redl, Ryan Ekdahl (Madison Stadnyk), Tommi Redl, Alexander Redl, Anneliese Redl and Hugo Kimonte.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the RUH Foundation; Legacy Fund for Trauma Care in memory of Elmer.
