It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George McConnell in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, born in Lacadena, Saskatchewan, who passed away on May 20, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth; his son Larry McConnell of Dinsmore; his brothers, John McConnell (Doreen) of Saskatoon, Lorne McConnell (Kay) of Abbotsford, BC, Sonny Gardner of Welwyn, Jim Gardner (Donna) of Edmonton, Harry Bayless of Rocanville and Wesley Smith of Moosomin; and also Bob Higgins of Saskatoon.

He is survived by: his daughter Shannon (Rick Sonmor) of Dalmeny; his grandchildren, Tony, Scott, Mitchell (Jazzlynn) and Patricia (Ron Boechler) of Saskatoon; his great grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher (Kate), Devon and Hannah; his sister Lena Higgins of Saskatoon; and also, Jeanne Bayless of Moosomin and Gladys Smith of Moosomin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
