We announce the death of Gilbert Lavertu (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), who passed away on October 4, 2026, at the age of 84. Gilbert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliva and Albertine; his grandson Garret; and his daughter Tanya. He is survived by: his siblings, George, Ray, Marcel, Marina, Lillian, Claire and Laurence; his wife Denise Gaudet; his sons, Jan (Karen), Brent (Barb Ives) and Gil (Melana Soroka); his daughter-in-law Audrey Gottlieb; his grandchildren, Jordan, Kennedy, Brad (Victoria), Justin (Megan Restall-Conan), Logan (Jill), Daria Domingo (Ronn), Caleb and Ashley Lester (Mike); his stepgrandson James; and his great grandchildren, Keona, Pascal, Beckett, Thea, Reagan, Sawyer, Daphne, Leila, Tillie, Marley and Isaiah.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Parish (222 Willow St, Saskatoon, SK S7J0C3).
