He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Downing and Anita Downing; his sisters, Sharon and Judy; his son Joe; and his grandson Lance.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Ryan (Katrina), Kevin (Amanda), Kimberly (Dean) and Tammi (Braden); his grandchildren, Makayla, Jessie, Iscis, Linkin, Logann, Corbyn, Torren, Kolten and Keenan; and his sisters, Joanne (Jim) and Marilyn (Doug).
