He was predeceased by: his husband Max Anderson; his parents, Vern Hunter and Muriel Hunter; his stepfather Art Hunter; his brother Jim Hunter; his stepsiblings, Irene Remmen (Ivor), Yvonne Nielsen (John), Lucille Durward (Merle) and Ray Hunter; his siblings-in-law, Bob Bohrson, Carmen Anderson, Frances Loberg (Peter), Blanche Loberg (Ernie) and Margie Zdunich (Victor); and his daughters-in-law, Susan Anderson and Cathy Anderson.

He is survived by: his children, Lorne Anderson (Anne Wagner), Dawna Dubyk (David), Perry Anderson (Roxanne) and Scott Anderson (Corinne); his siblings, Leone Bohrson, Dennis Hunter (Muriel) and Robert Hunter (Vale); his sister-in-law Valborg Hunter; and his great grandchildren, Dean Anderson, Clayton Dubyk, Blair Dubyk, Jay Dubyk (Ashleigh), Kara Dubyk (Adam), Angie Anderson, Ray Breckner, Erik Anderson, Cole Anderson (Leanne), Karlee Anderson, Brandi Anderson, Darren Anderson, Amanda Anderson, Brooke Anderson and Hanna Anderson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
