He was predeceased by: his wife Mary; his close friend Joan Bell; his parents, William and Gertrude; and his siblings, Jack (Phyllis), Earl (Elsie), Charlie, Bill, Gladys Dexter (John) and Alice Bader (Eugene).
He is survived by: his children, Robert Harold (Kathy) and Gail Chapman-Malone (Tom); his granddaughters, Corinne (Pat), Megan (Jamie) and Mackenzie (Theo); his great grandchildren, Arden, Wesley and Jake; his sisters-in-law, Mary Chapman and Yvonne Chapman; his children, Jakob (Emily) and Lauren; and his extended family Coates.
