He was predeceased by: his former wife Lylia Zusmanova. He is survived by: his wife Theresa Amanie; and his sons, Dr. John Amanie (Serena), Victor Amanie (British Columbia), Emmanuel Amanie and Michael Amanie. He is also survived by siblings, nieces and nephews.
