He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline; his son David John; his son-in-law David Creston Story; his brothers, Lloyd (Mary), Joe and Mike (Sophie); and his brothers-in-law, Stan Jacob, Harry Swetleshnoff, Dan Kopelchuk and George Predy.

He is survived by: his daughters, Kathryn Malanovich of Saskatoon, Karen Story and Judy Bogner (Lonny) of Saskatoon; his sister Ruth Predy (Jean Kopelchuck) of Preecville, SK; his daughter-in-law Judy Malanovich; his sister Evelyn Lisecki (Victor); his siblings-in-law, Diane Connelly (Jim) of New York State and George Swetleshnoff; his grandchildren, Andrew Malanovich (Hjordis), Michael Malanovich (Caitlin Stickney), Joseph Bogner (Nikki), Derek Bogner, Sarah Nahachewsky (Steve), Brenna Malanovich (Jeremy), Kimberley Pelletier (Matt), Matthew Story, Joshua Story and Brian Malanovich; his sister-in-law Kathleen Swetleshnoff; and his nephews, Jeff Lisecki and Miles Malanovich. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
