It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josephine Cortus (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), born in Unity, Saskatchewan, who passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur Cortus; her son David; her son-in-law Graham Forbes; her parents, Andrew Roberts and Elizabeth Roberts; her brother Robert; her sister-in-law Jeanine Roberts; her brother Fred; her sister-in-law Mavis Roberts; her sister Isabel; and her brother-in-law William Bayda.
She is survived by: her daughters, Colleen Shantz (Mervin) and Sheila Forbes (Robin Collins); her daughter-in-law Monica Cortus; her grandchildren, Scott (Rylee), Benjamin (Kaylee) and Sonai Matthias (Casey Christianson); her children, Curtis, Bridgette, Landon and Eli (Jennifer); her grandson Jack; her son Travis; and her grandchildren, Maverick, Wyatt, Brandi and Kalley.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor St, Saskatoon, SK S7K0Y9).
For many years, she organized clothing donations to Cando for the United Church.
