She was predeceased by: her husband Henry Sawatzky; her children, Brenda, Mark and Dale; her brother-in-law Terry Melnyk; and her parents, Anton Burgmaier and Mary Burgmaier (Schaab).

She is survived by: her son Allen (Val); her daughters-in-law, Diane Sawatzky (Ogurek) and Shannon Koski; her grandchildren, Megan (Corey), Kelsey (Jesse), Cortney (Kirk), Carissa (Ryan), Kyle (Jenna), Owen (Rochelle), Kristin (Lyndon), Erin (Nathan) and Shaye; and her siblings, Rita Melnyk, Margaret Hamilton (Dave), Joe Burgmaier (Kathy), Albert Burgmaier (Cathie) and Robert Burgmaier. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
