He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Surbey and Leopold Surbey; and his siblings, Vincent (Anne), Kathleen (Harold), Alf (Mary), Dan (Fern), Phillip and Leona (Jake).

He is survived by: his wife Dolores Falk; his children, Colleen Mah (Wally), Lindsay Surbey (Manindar), Theresa Blair (Richard), Jan Wilkinson (David) and Jeff Surbey (Carol); his sister-in-law Ione; his grandchildren, Patrick Mah (Echo), Steven Mah (Kirsten), Michael Surbey (Kirsten), Brendan Blair (Roberta), Graeme Blair (Sarah), Matthew Wilkinson (Michelle), Jessica Wilkinson, Alex Wilkinson (Megan), Jackson Surbey (Kiah) and Nicholas Surbey; and his great grandchildren, Atlas, Oliver Mah, Wesley, Eloise Mah, Brixton and Spencer Wilkinson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
