He was predeceased by: his parents, Petro and Anna; his stepfather John Sokal; and his siblings, Nikolas, Nettie, Mary Solar, Sophia Hrynuik, Bill, John, Mike, Jim, Steve and Nick.

He is survived by: his wife Frances Mary (Franky); and his children, Sandra Miller, Peter Michael Shinkaruk (Lynette) and Angela Schafer (Grant).
