He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia; his parents, Ted Hrytsak and Mary Hrytsak; his siblings, Slawka Senkus (Bill), Andy (Jean), Art (Betty) and Rudy; and his close friend Ellie Corbett.

He is survived by: his daughter Valerie Nicholat (Eugene); his grandchildren, Christa Nicholat, Anita Tonn (Ryan) and Evan Nicholat (Nadia Henry); his child Shelley Jenkins; his granddaughter Marcy Johnston (Graem); his daughter Virginia Rose; his great grandchild Angela LaPointe (Jim); his sister Frances Sherban (George); and also, Candace LaPointe (Fraser Baalim) and Jenna LaPointe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
