He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille; and his parents, Labe and Ethel. He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon and Gwen. He is also survived by other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The most prestigious being in 2002 when The Governor General of Canada presented him with Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee Medal, which was awarded to Canadians who made outstanding and exemplary contributions to their communities.
