He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie Walsh; his parents, Charles Walsh and Mary Walsh; his sister Dolores Gebert; and his brother-in-law Edward Gebert.

He is survived by: his children, Doug Walsh (Janice White), Dean Walsh (Alana Krakowski), Darrin Walsh and Christa Walsh (Michael Lipinski).

Ron's contributions to officiating earned him several honours, including being inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in 2011 in the Builder category.
