Shirley Mae Zelko Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Mae Zelko (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on August 31, 1937, who passed away peacefully on November 11, 2021 at the age of 84, she was predeceased by her parents Charles and Mary Emery.
After graduating from high school, Shirley worked for the Royal Bank of Canada as a teller in Yorkton, until she married her prince, Ed on September 30, 1956 at the age of 19. She loved her role as a stay-at-home mother and wife who took pride in her garden and spending time with family in Saskatoon. Shirley enjoyed her weekends spent with the family at Redberry Lake and at the cabin at Blackstrap Lake. Shirley enjoyed water skiing, fishing at Piprell Lake, Competitive Bowling 5 pin, taking family trips in the plane and more recently, travel with Ed to local lakes in their motorhome, which was her ultimate vacation.
She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband of 65 years Ed (Edwin); her pet Winston; her children, Yancy Zelko (Rosalyn) and Wanda Underhill; her grandchildren, Christopher Zelko (Krista Yakiwchuk), Jason Zelko (Ashley), Caitlin O'Neal (Devin), Claire Underhill (Michael Wyant), Ted Underhill, and Liane Zelko; her great grandchildren, Scarlett and Theodore Wyant; her brothers, Edward and Stuart Emery. She was also cherished by brother/sister-in-laws and her many friends.
