It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shwapnil Sarker (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), born in Toronto, Ontario, who passed away on November 19, 2018, at the age of 12, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Keshab Chandra Sarker and Ranjit Kumar Bhadra. He is survived by: his parents, Sabuj Sarker and Shilpi Rani Bhadra; his sister Shayuree; his aunts and uncles, Swapan Kumar Sarker (Lipi), Tapan Kanti Sarker (Rita), Banani Sarker (Bidyut), Protima Bhadra (Gour) and Sanjit Bhadra (Menoka); his grandmothers, Parul Rani Sarker of Bangladesh and Pushpa Rani Bhadra of Saskatoon; and his great-aunt Sheuli Das (Subir).

Donations in memory of Shwapnil can be made to Jim Pattison Children's Hospital in Saskatoon or to a charity of choice.
