Valerie Bleakney Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on September 18, 2023, at the age of 93, Valerie Bleakney (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sophie Urbanoski (Chmura) and Joseph Urbanoski; her husband LeRoy Bleakney; her sister Mary; her brother-in-law Joe Staska; and her brothers, Carl, Peter, Bruno and Stanley.
She is survived by: her son Mark (Cecile); her grandchildren, Simera, Shane and Shae-Lynn of Inuvik, NWT; her children, Alberta and Blair; her granddaughters, Kyla McDonald (Chad) of Grand Cayman and Katie Bleakney of Saskatoon; her daughter Carol Flegg (Milt); her grandson Connor Flegg (Katy); and her great grandchildren, Addison, Callie of Calgary and Dr. Tynan Flegg of Vancouver.
Valerie has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
