He was predeceased by : his parents, Diedrich Thiessen and Justina Thiessen; his siblings, Stella Peters, Kay Lowen, Elaine Magiera, Mary Martens and Peter Thiessen; his siblings-in-law, Lena Thiessen, Henry Peters and John Martens; and his niece Brenda Cram.

He is survived by : his wife Linda (Yongeneel) of Punnichy, SK.; his daughters, LeeAnne Benjamin (Paul) and Shannon Burton (Dave); his grandchildren, Eden, Kaeson, Anwen and Zoe; his brother Richard Thiessen (Frances); his brothers-in-law, Ed Mageria and Dick Lowen; and his son Jace Mageria. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
