He was predeceased by: his wife Beverly Prokopishin; his parents, Nicholas Prokopishin and Mary Prokopishin; and his siblings, Harold Prokopishyn, Fred Prokopishin, Andy Prokopishyn, George Prokopishin, Olga Leach and Anne Virgin.

He is survived by: his children, Darrell Prokopishin (Sharlene Blackman) of Brooks, Alberta, Sherrie Turner (Mike) of Wainwright, Dean Prokopishin (Maureen Ewanus) of Saskatoon and Brent Prokopishin of Edmonton; and his grandchildren, Ryan Prokopishin and Carmen Prokopishin. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and numerous friends.
