He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Piatka; his parents, Susanna and Reinhardt; his siblings, Robert, Jake, Dave, John, Leah Gritzfeld, Emma Ryan, Molly McLean and Leonora Andreas; and his nephews, Robert and Brian Koroll.

He is survived by: his sister Diane Koroll; his children, Jackie McConaghy (Trevis), Dani Hunter-Boone (Jordan) and Cole Hunter (Blayre Joa); and his great grandchildren, Hazel Hunter, Ace Hunter, Maeve Boone and Leo Boone.
