He was predeceased by : his son Jason; his brother Cliff; his siblings-in-law, Don Mohagen, Walter Richardson and Heather Richardson; his nephew Aaron Gilbert; and his parents, Grace Gilbert and Orland Gilbert.

He is survived by : his wife Charlotte; his children, Kevin (Aimee), Jodie (Mitch) and Kim (Calum); his grandchildren, Jason, Ryan, Austin, Chiara, Keagan, Treston and Hailey; and his brothers, Robert (Leanne), Calvin and John (Charlene).
