It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard John Maier (Southey, Saskatchewan), who passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Maier and Johanna Maier (Wagner); his wife Helen; and his son-in-law Ron Horvath. He is survived by: his daughter Carol Flaman (Edmond); his grandchildren, Dana Flaman (Steph), Crystal Lovelace (Trent) and Dustin Flaman (Sam); his son Doug Maier (Pat Kotylak); his grandchildren, Tanisa Fisher (Katlin) and Tristan Davidson; his daughter Shelley Horvath; his grandchildren, Amanda Kihn (Marc Degelman), Ashley Horvath (Allen Haavisto) and Trevor Horvath (Amber); his great grandchildren, Madison, Payten, McKenzie Kihn, Jaxson, Oakley, Walker Horvath, Xander Haavisto, Hudson, Hayden, Aliza Lovelace, Jayden, Paizlee, Tayla, Brielle Fisher, Rexalee and Ryker Flaman; and his sister-in-law Elaine Ritter. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
