He was predeceased by : his parents, Francis Matte and Adrienne Bourassa; his nephew Michael; and his great-nephew Junior. He is survived by : his son Trevor Monks (Jodi); his grandchildren, Mason and Brooklyn; his daughter Wendy Monks-Janzen (Wade); his grandchildren, Sophia and Cameron; his siblings, Louis, Paul (Annette), Lorraine (Alvin Loff), Alice Russell (Jim) and Marcel (Elaine); and his nephew Brent Gaulding.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private Gathering will be held at the Spiritwood Cemetery to Celebrate Roger's Life on Monday June 14, 2021 at 11:00am.
