He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Blackstar and Inez Blackstar (Kennedy); his grandparents, Alexander, Mary Blackstar (Wright), Edward and Maria Baptiste (Manaya); his brothers, Calvin Blackstar and David Blackstar; his nephew Bryan Blackstar; and his aunts and uncles, John Blackstar, Norman Blackstar, Lawrence Blackstar, Edwin Blackstar, Christine Laplante (Gina), Louisa Wardman and Lena Albert (Baptiste).
He is survived by: his adoptive parents, Ron Smallwood and Linda Smallwood of Moose Jaw; his siblings, Henry Smallwood (Blackstar), Linda Watson (Butch), Donna Blackstar (Elmer), Diane Albert (Ken), Norine Tourangeau (Glenn), Karen Blackstar, Terri Parsons and Melissa Parkyns; and his uncle Gavin Baptiste.
