He was predeceased by: his wife Nora Sally Charles; his parent Reverend Phillip John Charles (Helen); his grandfather James Charles (Georgina); his grandson Warren Wilson McLeod; his great grandchildren, Xavier Trottier and Loralai Cook; his siblings, Paul Charles (Alice), Isiah Charles (Nancy), Jonas Charles (Annie), Reverend Murdock Charles (Betsy), Maggie McKenzie (Johnny), Angelique McKenzie (George) and Jemima McLeod (William); his mother-in-law Rose Charles (Roberts); and his siblings-in-law, David Roberts, Moses Charles, Nancy, Maggie and Mary Ann Charles.
He is survived by: his children, Hannah McLeod (Alfred), John Wilson Jr. Charles (Deborah), Phillip Charles (Florence), David Charles (Betsy), Maggie Ross (Stanley) and Helen McKenzie (Allan); his siblings, Thomas Charles (Annie), Nathan McKenzie and Sarah Ballantyne; his siblings-in-law, Martha McKenzie (Isaac), Aurora Charles and John George Roberts (Ida); his grandchildren, Nora Charles (Lonnie), Alfred McLeod (Sylvia), Cecil McLeod (Vanessa), Michelle McLeod, Christina McLeod (Dillon), Conrad Charles, Stacey Charles, Skylar Charles, Cheyenne Charles, Phillip Charles, Stanley Charles, Georgina Charles (Julian), Timothy Charles, Joel Charles, Mica Charles, Inez Cook (Robert), Martha Charles (Randy), David Jr. Charles (Lizzie), Simon Charles, Patricia McKenzie (Patrick), Vernon Ross, Trevor Ross, Joanne McKenzie (Gerald), Monique McKenzie (Dalton), Angel McKenzie (Naylor), April McKenzie (Bryan), Troy McKenzie (Connie Jo), Savannah McKenzie and Stephanie McKenzie (Dawson); his godchildren, Nicole Bonaise, Oliveen Cook, Daryl McKenzie, Brennan (Patricia Roberts) and Virginia S.
