He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Schulz and David Andrew Schulz; his siblings, Reinhardt, Maria, Lydia, David, Alvina, Mary, Alfred, Rudy and Emmanuel; his nephews, Dale and David; and his in-laws, Lil, Otto Ruland, Otto Kelln, Marlene, Eileen, Jack, Hilda Erhardt, Donald Erhardt and Lloyd Erhardt.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his children, Terry Hirkala (Dale), Donald (Lauren) and James; his grandchildren, Kristin Lomenda (Clayton), Zak (Erin) and Xavier (Jill); his stepgrandchildren, Travis Hirkala, Roxanne Swann (Brian) and Nick Hirkala (Christine); his great grandchildren, Ava, Heath, Halston, Aylah, Maize, Beckham and Ellie; and his siblings-in-law, Marlene Schulz, Lois Erhardt and Rick Erhardt (Debbie). He is also survived by 7 step great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the St John's Lutheran Church (315 Mountain St, Strasbourg, SK S0G4V0).
