He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Allen" Marklinger and Alice Marklinger; his siblings, Lloyd Marklinger, Gail Sandhoff and Carol Geisel; and his grandparents, John, Theresa Marklinger (Schnell), Charles and Lena Fieber (Mehler).

He is survived by: his children, Wendy and Steve (Tanya Schiestel); his grandchildren, Jenny Scott Young and Kohl Marklinger; his siblings, Mary Jane Marklinger-Ryckman (Frank Young), Linda Choquette (Jim) and Wayne Marklinger (Nancy); his brother-in-law Les Geisel; and his uncle Richard Marklinger.
