It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Penner (Swift Current, Saskatchewan), born in Main Centre, Saskatchewan, who passed away on February 20, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Franz Dueck and Katharina Dueck; her husband Abe Penner; and her daughter Doris Fehr. She is survived by : her children, Verna Collinson (Francis) of Swift Current, SK, Elvira Kenzie (Terry) of Medicine Hat, AB, Tim Fehr (Wendy) of Regina, SK, Ray Penner (Leone) of Regina, SK, Ron Penner (Kyra) of Leduc, AB, Jenn Bauer (Garth) of Swift Current, SK and Patti Hildebrandt (Wayne) of Blumenhof, SK; her sisters, Susie Dyck (Paul) and Elizabeth Driedger (Ben); and her siblings-in-law, Cheryl Dueck, Sarah Dueck and John Penner (Nellie). She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren and their spouses; her twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

In memory of Gertrude Penner, donations made to Gideons International and Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child would be appreciated by the family.

“I am deeply saddened by your loss. Our sincere heartfelt condolences to every member of the family. Aunt Gertie was such a treasure and she left such a legacy - what a beautiful, kindhearted soul who touched the lives of so many people. She will be greatly missed but she is now rejoicing with her Lord and Saviour and walking the streets of gold hand in hand with her soulmate and others who have gone before her. What a joy that we will be able to see her again in Paradise. Love, prayers, hugs!”
