He was predeceased by: his parents, Wasyl and Vonda; and his brother Sam. He is survived by: his wife Doris; his children, Doreen Grover (Brian), Maxine Athene, Cameron Kosmachuk (Tammi) and Angelin Comfort (Graham); his grandchildren, Pamela Turner (Jason), Nolan Stroshein (Jennifer), Jason Matheson (Jen), Julie Goeres (Ian), Aiden Stroshein (Jessica), Justin, Tia Kosmachuk, Garet and Kira Comfort; and his siblings, Walter, Tony, Andy, Dena and Vera. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Wadena Baptist Church (134 2 St NE, Wadena, SK S0A4J0).
