He is survived by : his children, Keaton Checkosis, Kallie Desjarlais, River Thomson, Lanaya Desjarlais, Carlos Martinez and Miguel Martinez; and his sisters, Keri Dale Ponace and Miranda Desjarlais. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
