He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald May and Doreen May; his brother Gerald May; his granddaughter Kayli Katherine Fox; and his son-in-law Jason Court.

He is survived by : his daughters, Amanda Fox (Chad) and Jennifer May Court; his grandchildren, Kylan, Tylar and Annah Fox; his daughters, Draven May and Jordie Court; his sister Karen Carlson (Brian); his nephews, Christopher Carlson, Daniel Carlson (Samantha) and Travis Carlson (Raquel); and his close friend Colleen Foss.

“Barry May family, I would personally like to convey my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your father and friend. I was a grade school friend of Barry's and we were in the same classrooms in Souris School. Barry was a very dear lifetime friend, and sometimes we are not so blessed as to have that friend stay in the same city for all of our lives. Barry was kind and special and he will be dearly missed. I am very thankful and honored to have been able to call Barry my childhood friend. Danna Kopec”
