He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarissa Schotts and Nelson Schotts; his stepmother Alice; his brother Irvine; his sister-in-law Edith; his sister Marion Bjorgan; his brother-in-law Orville; his half-sister Elsie; his wife Helen; the mother of his children Evelyn; his children, Wayne and Brenda Karcha; his daughter-in-law Evette Schotts; and his stepson Kelvin Leibel.

He is survived by: his children, Lawrence Schotts, Lyle Schotts and Verna Lanoway (Gordon); his son-in-law Leroy Karcha; and his stepchildren, Ivan Leibel (Colleen) and Tracey Leibel (Glenn). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great Grandchildren and dear friends.
