He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Johnston and Glenna Johnston; the mother of his children Pat Johnston; and his brother Robert Johnston (Donalda). He is survived by : his children, Nicole Thideman (Ken, family: Keegan, Shae, Chloe) of Weyburn, SK and Greg Johnston (Amanda, family: Presley, Ashtyn) of Weyburn, SK; and his sisters, Linda Paquette (Gerry) of Red Deer, AB and Judy Garner (Doug) of Regina, SK. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
