He was predeceased by : his daughter Margaret Kkaikka; his son-in-law Ryan Tsannie; his parents, Lucy Dzeylion and Modest Dzeylion; his brothers, Alex, Napoleon, Leon and Jimmy (Rose); his parents-in-law, Jimmy and Therese Kkaikka; his adoptive parents, Louis Benonie and Annie Benonie; and his close friend Charlie Throassie.

He is survived by : his wife Adele; his close friend Jeannie Cheba; his children, Christina (John Paul), Jonas Jr. (Marlena), Priscilla (Leon), Therese (Alex), Jeanette (Jason), Lynette, Jordon, Edwin, Adonis and Eddrick; his grandchildren, Cynthia (Tristen), Caydence, Dawson, Rose, Mercedes, Zarrin, Tristen R, Cedrick, Rayden, Alexia, Araya, Chastity, Lance, Brooke, Jaylin, Kirstin and Lilah; his great grandchildren, Ryder, Carson, Kade, Alexander and Reagan; his siblings, William (Veronique), Joseph (Florence), Emil (Margaret), Martin (Sally), David (Bernadette), Alice Tss, Flora Natomagan, Gabriel Benonie and Jerome Sr. Benonie; and his godchildren, Leroy Dz, Shantelle Cook and Janet Throassie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, & friends.
