He was predeceased by : his parents, James Forbes and Mary Forbes (Hutchison); his brother Jack Forbes; and his former life partner Phyllis. He is survived by : his brothers, Murray Forbes (Marilyn) and Ken Forbes (Mary Sue); his children, Josh Forbes (Cate) and Naomi MacDonald (James); his grandchildren, Courtney Dunn (Tyler) and Brendan Forbes; his niece Pamela Fitkowski Stone; and his nephews, Colin Duff and John Forbes. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
