He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Henri Ricard and Rhéa LaFontaine; his siblings, Bernard, Jean and Rollande; his son Danny Ricard (Amanda Ellacott); his grandchildren, Guillaume, Benoit, Hannah, Bailey and Austin; and his sons, Donald and Royal Junior.

Donations in Royal's memory can be made to the Yukon Hospital Foundation.
