He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Couper and Wynne Couper; and his brother-in-law Rex. He is survived by: his spouse Llyween; his children, Christian (Maria) and Mitchell (Wendy); his grandchildren, Natalie, Daisy, Nicole and Benjamin; and his siblings-in-law, Wally and Sue.
