It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilbert Richard Nanninga of Anchorage, Alaska, who passed away on July 15, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Marvin, Robert, Conrad "Connie", Marilyn Silver, Irma Williams and Dorothy Sewell; his children, Connie Butler, Charly Nanninga and Sandi Cole; and his grandson Christopher Olsen.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Erla Johnston; his daughter Ruby Nanninga; and his grandchildren, Amy Rivera (Butler) and Kenneth Butler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
