He was predeceased by: his parents, James David, Sr. and Bettye Lou Avey. He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Jaedon Avey (Adrian), Jaena Tranberg (David Kojin) of Anchorage and Ursula Rochté of Costa Rica; his grandchildren, Michael, Martha, Kona, Sarah, Jeffery, Aaron, David and Steven; his great grandchild Kai; his sister Andrea McGovern of Hawaii; his nephews, Joshua, Christopher and Nathan; his stepdaughter Heather Lewis (John) of Texas; his grandsons, Hilton and Lyle; and his cousin Kay (Mike) of Kansas.
