He is survived by: his wife Rae; his children, Jason Prewitt (Sasha), Tara (Andre Horton), Kelly (Caleb Preston) and Andrew Lange (Stacey); his granddaughters, Caedra James, Aarya Lee and Ruby James; and his sisters, Joyce Smith and Grace (Harold Sevener).

In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to the Alaska SeaLife Center and the Alaska Zoo.
