She was predeceased by: her brother Jerry McConnell. She is survived by: her husband Robert Sanders; her son Ross McKenney Sanders; her grandchildren, Tristan Thane Sanders, Merrick Sanders, Morgan Sanders, Derek Bruce Hanshaw and Laura Penn Hanshaw; and her daughters-in-law, Karen Sanders and Janet Sanders.
Frau Sanders appreciated reading cards and emails from hundreds of students, teachers, colleagues and friends, who often asked "what can I do in your memory." She requests donations to encourage international travel for students and teachers.
