Leon Nicholas Merkes Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 6, 2018, at the age of 93, Leon Nicholas Merkes (Anchorage, Alaska), born in Stratford, Wisconsin passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Helen, Raymond, Francis Merkes and David Kaiser; and his grandchildren, Sarah Merkes and Nathan Waller.
He is survived by: his stepfather Charles Kaiser; his wife Grace E. Merkes; his children, Patty E. Wisel (John), Vonnie M. Pierce (Charlie), Dennis R. Merkes (Anita), Renee R. Lindow (Bill), Kenny J. Merkes (Renee), Linda G. Winkler (Tom), Greg F. Merkes (Dawn) and Melissa T. Daugherty (Mick); his father Grampa Fart; and also, Grampy Fart, Papa Fart and Old Fart. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.
