She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Mary Thayer Powell; her stepfather Crawford Powell; her former spouse Merlyn Ballinger; her stepdaughter Terri Lee; her husband Ray Nelson; her daughters, Terri Ballinger-May (Wayne Kennedy) and Brenda Mary Ballinger (Duane Teachout); her stepchildren, Colleen Sandman, Jeff Nelson (Dianne), Scott Nelson (Kelley) and Doug Nelson (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Brandt Edwin Ballinger May, Taylor Jacob Ballinger May, Justin Howard Whitlock, Spencer William Whitlock, Patrick Sandman (Molly), Bryan Nelson, Cody Nelson, Jacob Nelson, Danielle Sandman, Aniko Nelson and Cassandra Nelson; her great grandchild Theo Sandman; her sister-in-law Leatha Hansen (Ron); and her nephews, Kent and Kurt Hansen (Shannon).
