He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomson and Mima Thomson of Seattle; his former wife Bonnie Thomson (Barbour); his son Stanley Mark Thomson; his brother Arthur; his sister-in-law Gayle Thomson; his sibling Helen; and his nephew John O'Brien.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Thomson (Carlson) of Anchorage; his son David (Johna); his grandson Tristan Thomson of Black Diamond, Washington; his nieces and nephews, Art Thomson (Susie), Jill Storm (John), Dana Carlson, Steven O'Brien and JoAnne O'Brien; and his grandchildren, Brandon Carlson (Kaiya), Tricia DeMarco (Brian), Jeffrey Carlson (Jenny), Corey Carlson, Julia Melson (Bruce), Lisa Forsland (Mike) and Joseph Crabb (Kristin). He is also survived by his brother, sister and their spouses.
