He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Thrasher and Thelma Thrasher; and his sister Tina Brooks. He is survived by: his children, Corina Thrasher, Cyrus Thrasher and Neva Thrasher; and his siblings, Laura "Lolly" Crosby, Mike Thrasher and Sherrill Tilbury. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
