He is survived by: his spouses, Kathryn Robertson and Kate; his children, Julie West of Wasilla, Alaska, Walter of Anchorage, William of Anchorage and Thomas Platzek of Anchorage; his grandchildren, Heidi Meyer, Haily West, Lindsay West, Astrid Platzek, Elizabeth Platzek, Ember Platzek, Isobel Platzek, Walker Platzek, Chase Platzek, Tristin Platzek, Koda Butler, Kazareal Deano, Haakon Platzek and Landen Platzek; his great grandchildren, Jaxon Moore, Riley Moore and Garrett Fitzgerald; and his siblings, Bill Platzek of Jefferson Valley, N. Y. and Patricia Platzek of Aptos, Calif.. He is also survived by several nieces; and a nephew.
