She was predeceased by : her parents, William Whipple and Joyce Whipple; and her sister Camille Baker. She is survived by : her former life partner Kirby Matthys; her sons, Nathan Matthys of Fairbanks, Evan Matthys of North Pole and Robert Matthys of North Pole; her sister Robin Bennet of Fairbanks; her aunt Diana Newton of Tacoma, Washington; her uncle Gerald Newton of North Pole; and also Kirby Matthys of North Pole.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Fairbanks Rescue Mission.
